New Requiremens for Construction Stormwater (December 2009)

The US Environmental Protection Agency recently passed new regulations for stormwater associated with construction and development activities.  Beginning in February of 2010, erosion and sedimentation control plans for construction sites in NC that disturb more than one acre will no longer suffice to comply with the new requirements.  New requirements include implementation of best management and pollution prevention practices.  There is also a numeric limitation for turbidity that will be phased in over four years, beginning in  August 2010.  Click here for more information from EPA's website.  Read a comprehensive summary from Amy Wang, environmental and real estate development attorney with Ward and Smith, P.A.  by clicking here.
