Mid-Atlantic is pleased to announce that Daniel H. Nielsen, P.E. received his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) accreditation from the United States Green Building Council (USGBC). Dan is a Principal Engineer who specializes in remediation design for the cleanup of contaminated sites. He has been at Mid-Atlantic Associates, Inc. for over 8 years and has over 20 years of experience in the environmental consulting field. His LEED accreditation compliments his Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering degree from North Carolina State University where he conducted research at the Solar House. This gave Dan early insight into green and sustainable initiatives that are currently being adopted today due to rising energy costs, global warming concerns and the need for healthy work environments. In conjunction with our core environmental services, our LEED-Accredited Professionals (LEED-AP) provide Mid-Atlantic with the ability to more effectively support our clients needs, especially with urban infill and Brownfields projects where environmentally impaired property are being reused to support green/sustainable development.
