On May 17, 2010, the City of Durham Office of Economic and Workforce Development held an event to familiarize local environmental companies with their Brownfields job training program.  The program has trained nearly 60 City of Durham residents as environmental technicians, providing them with valuable industry certificates, including HAZWOPER, OSHA Health and Safety, Asbestos Worker, Lead Abatement Worker, First Aid and CPR, and much more.  It is also recognized as one of the leading Brownfields Job Training Programs in the country.  Mid-Atlantic helped the City identify potential employers, develop outreach materials and conduct the informational seminar.  A flyer about the program can be found by clicking here.
